iPhone 14 Users To Get Free Access To Emergency SOS via Satellite For Another Year
Apple launched Emergency SOS via Satellite feature with iPhone 14 last year. At the time of the launch, Apple announced that this feature would be available to iPhone 14 users free of cost for one year, after which the service would be available on a subscription basis.
Now that one year has passed, Apple has made a big announcement by extending the Emergency SOS via satellite for an additional free year for all iPhone 14 users.
Emergency SOS via satellite, which launched in the US and Canada first, and has since expanded to 16 countries and regions allows users to communicate with emergency services even when they do not have access to cellular and Wi-Fi coverage through satellites.
iPhones include a dedicated special user interface that makes it easy for users to communicate with emergency services. In addition to contacting emergency services, iPhone users can also send their whereabouts to family and friends when traveling off the grid with the Find My app via satellite, even when they are not facing an emergency situation.
Ever since its launch, the Emergency SOS via Satellite feature has expanded to more devices. Now in addition to the iPhone 14 lineup, users of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max also have access to this feature.
