Apple Releases iOS 17.1 Beta 2 Along With Second Betas For macOS 14.1, watchOS 10.1, and tvOS 17.1
The second developer beta of iOS 17.1 has been released to developers beta testing the software. Along with iOS 17.1 and iPadOS 17.1, Apple has also seeded macOS 14.1, watchOS 10.1, and tvOS 17.1.
In addition to releasing the usual software for beta testing, Apple has also released visionOS beta 4 for Apple Vision Pro and Xcode 15.1 beta.
Today’s second beta release of iOS 17.1 comes exactly one week after the release of the first developer beta. The build number for this release is 21B5056e.
iOS 17.1 is expected to bring a number of big and small changes to iPhones. Some of these changes were discovered in last week’s iOS 17.1 developer beta 1 while a few more have been discovered in today’s beta.
Here are the changes discovered in iOS 17.1 developer beta 2 so far.
- New options for iOS 17’s new StandBy feature have been added. You can find them under the Display Options page. With the new settings, users will be able to make their device turn off the display automatically after 20 seconds. They can also select the Never option if they don’t wish their display should turn off.
- iOS 17.1 beta 2 adds the iOS 17.0 ringtones, which were missing from iOS 17.1 beta 1.
- iOS 17.1 and watchOS 10.1 beta 2 introduce the new Apple Watch Double Tap feature for Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2.
