Apple Releases Another Build Of iOS 17.1 RC Ahead Of Final Release
As we eagerly wait for iOS 17.1’s public release, Apple has seeded a second Release Candidate of iOS 17.1 to developers. If you are a developer who is beta testing iOS 17.1 on his or her device, then go ahead and update your device to this release.
The build number for today’s iOS 17.1 RC release is 21B77 whereas the build number of the first iOS 17.1 RC was 21B74. Interestingly Apple has not released a revised build of iPadOS 17.1 and is still seeding the first iPadOS 17.1 RC.
It is common practice for Apple to release an updated build of Release Candidate software in case it finds some bugs in the initial release. As of right now, it is unclear what has changed in today’s revised release of iOS 17.1 RC.
iOS 17.1 is a major iOS release for iPhone users as it is bringing a number of changes and improvements to iPhones. With this update, Apple is finally bringing AirDrop over the Internet feature, which will enable iPhone users to continue with their AirDrop transfers even when they are out of range of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
This update also brings changes to StandBy mode on devices with Always-on displays, a new way to favorite artists for Apple Music users, and changes the way the Action button on iPhone 15 Pro works when the device is in the user’s pocket.
Apple is expected to release iOS 17.1 to the public on October 24.
