Apple Launches Redesigned M4 Powered iPad Pros

Apple has launched the new redesigned iPad Pros. This is the first-ever redesign of the iPad Pro lineup since 2018. Both new models are powered by an M4 chip, with Apple skipping the M3 chip for the iPad Pros altogether.

The new iPad Pro design is thinner than the previous model. The 11-inch iPad Pro is 5.3mm thin while the 13-inch model is 5.1mm thin. According to Apple, it is the “thinnest product they have ever created”.

iPad Pro comes in two sizes, the 11-inch iPad Pro and a slightly larger 13-inch iPad Pro. It is powered by the M4 chip, which according to Apple is an “outrageously powerful chip for AI”. The new chip has been developed by the second generation 3 nanometer fabrication process.

The M4 chip has a 10-core CPU that can deliver 50 percent more CPU performance compared to the M2 chip. The new chip offers 4x GPU performance compared to the M2 chip found in the previous model.

Both sizes of iPad Pro feature the new OLED display called Ultra Retina XDR. This new screen is equipped with ProMotion technology and comes with optional Nano-texture glass coating. The display can achieve 1600 peak HDR brightness.

Apple has added an updated camera system at the rear of the new iPad Pros. The new camera system only features a single 12-megapixel lens as opposed to the dual-lens setup of the previous generations.

Other features of M4 iPad Pros include adaptive True Tone Flash, landscape 12-megapixel front camera, 5G support, thunderbolt/USB 4, four-speaker audio, and a new LiDAR scanner.

Both iPad Pro models are available in Space Grey and Silver color options. The 11-inch iPad Pro starts at $999 and 13-inch iPad Pro starts at $1,199.

The base storage model features 256GB storage while users can also get them in 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB options.
