Apple Announces Let Loose iPad Event For May 7

Apple has announced a new special event that will take place on May 7, 2024. The “Let Loose” event will be online only and take place at 7 AM PT and 10 AM ET.

The event will focus heavily on iPad hardware as the company will announce new iPad Pros, iPad Airs, Apple Pencil, and Magic Keyboards.

Apple has made it pretty clear that this is an iPad-focused event as the main graphic for the event features an Apple Pencil drawing of a colorful Apple logo.

iPad Pro is expected to get a refresh at this event with Apple announcing the new OLED iPad Pro in both 12.9-inch and 11-inch sizes. The new models are also said to be thinner than the current models, which will be the first-ever design change for the iPad Pros since 2018’s redesign.

This year Apple is also rumored to launch the first-ever 12.9-inch iPad Air, which will join the 10.9-inch iPad Air that we know and love. This new larger iPad Air is rumored to feature a mini-LED display.

A new Apple Pencil is expected to be announced at this event with new features like Squeeze gesture, Find My integration, and new types of tips magnetically swappable tips that will be able to simulate different drawing and writing instruments.

Along with Apple Pencil Apple is also expected to release Magic Keyboards that will feature a new sturdier aluminum frame. The new Magic Keyboards will make the iPad look and feel more like a laptop.
