After a three-week hiatus of iOS beta, Apple has finally released iOS 17.5 beta for developers. The new update is now available for download for registered developers who are interested in testing it out on their devices.
Apple has seeded the first betas of following operating systems to developers.
- iOS 17.5 Developer Beta 1
- iPadOS 17.5 Developer Beta 1
- macOS Sonoma 14.5 Developer Beta 1
- visionOS 1.2 Developer Beta 1
- watchOS 10.5 Developer Beta 1
- tvOS 10.5 Developer Beta 1
If you have an iOS 17-compatible test device and want to test iOS 17.5 and iPadOS 17.5 on it, then you can now head over to the Software Update section of your device and install the update.
If you are new to the Apple developer program, then make sure you are signed in with the Apple ID that is registered with Apple’s Developer Program by going to Settings -> General -> Software Update -> Beta Updates. Also, make sure the iOS 17 Developer Beta option is selected.
iOS 17.5 is a major iOS update that is expected to bring new features and noticeable improvements to iPhones and iPads. We are downloading the beta on our test devices and will update this post as new changes and features are discovered.
If you plan on testing iOS 17.5 on your iPhone or iPad, then we recommend that you avoid installing it on your daily driver and only download it on a test device as bugs are expected.
If you want to install iOS beta on your main device, then it is also recommended that you install iOS 17.5 Public beta, which should be out by next week.
